Chicago,Il-From October 9^th to October 30^th 2009, Garage Spaces, an alternative art space, premieres with Stolen an art installation/temporary pawnshop created through the collaboration of artists/curators Mike Bancroft and Evan Plummer. Stolen also features works by Bridget Bancroft, Gabrielle Carasquillo, Roberto Cardenas, Alex Inglizian, Jasmine K, Maria Perkovic, and Bert Stabler . Stolen re-defines the concept of “borrowing indefinitely” by challenging the thinking behind theft, and its role in our society by using performance, video, and installation to engage in a dialogue about appropriation, greed, violation, and ownership.
